art statement
Drawing and painting was a daily activity in my home throughout childhood. My art is inspired by local landscapes, flowers, fields and gardens. I enjoy presenting nature with bright, bold colors and textures using acrylic paints and mediums. While creating, I enter into an imaginary world and am reminded what life was like as a child–playful, fearless and free. These paintings represent the world as I see it. Each painting tells a story, and I hope to invoke a feeling of whimsy, playfulness, and joy through my art.
Recently, I have become a member of Night of Artists. A collection of my work is installed at the Wildflower Grill Restaurant in the Matrix Hotel. I also show my art at The Different Strokes Art Gallery in Olds, Alberta, Saffron Studios in Cochrane, Alberta, the Whyte Avenue Artwalk, Credo Coffee Cafe Fresh, the Butterdome Spring & Christmas shows and the 104 Street Downtown Farmers Market.
